SIB Church in Seremban Torched

（芙蓉11日讯）教堂遭纵火袭击事件又添一宗，森美兰芙蓉新城SIB教会会所今早被发现大门有明显遭到纵火的痕迹。

根据该教会职员Raymond表示，纵火事件应该是发生在昨晚11点半至今早8点半之间。因为该教会职员是于昨晚11点半才离开教会，到了今早8点半，一名教友在经过会所时，惊觉会所门口有被纵火的痕迹，于是马上报警。

根据现场所见，教会会所大门被严重熏黑，而放置在门口地上的地毯也有被烧焦的痕迹。当警方打开大门，入内搜查的时候，可以看到会所内一片迷蒙，空气中也飘来阵阵的烧焦味。

目前，警方、鉴证组人员以及消防局火灾调查小组在现场进行搜证的工作，其中也出动了警犬，以确定暴徒用来纵火的器具。

教会活跃于东马 成立之初以马来语布道

SIB教会在东马非常活跃，而芙蓉的这一间教会也是芙蓉市近几年来，发展得最快的其中一间基督教教会。

由于教友大多数是来自东马的学生或工作人士，所以该教会在成立之处，以马来语布道为主。后来，才加入了英语以及华语讲道。

该教会牧师表示，目前共有3百多名教友，而以马来语为媒介语的教友则差不多占了一半，即100多名。

值得一提的是，被纵火的SIB教会距离芙蓉新城警局只是咫尺之遥，对面更是警方交通工具常添油的添油站，常有警方出入，暴徒此举仿佛在太岁头上动土。

地点僻静 晚间无人出没

不过，根据教会职员表示，每到晚上，这一区显得非常安静，教会附近的店家几乎都没有营业，也没有人住在这里，因此，今天凌晨发生的纵火案，应该不会有目击者。

在案发后，芙蓉警区警长、当地的国会议员陆兆福与州议员谢琪清已在接获投报后到现场巡视。

亚沙国会议员陆兆福受询时也严厉谴责该纵火行为。除此之外，陆氏也质询全国总警长慕沙哈山指示警方加倍巡逻教会是否不够效率，连离警局不到一公里之遥的教会也发生纵火事件，暴徒分明是向警方示威、挑战。

当 地州议员谢琪清律师则认为此项事件不应该发生。他指出更令人担忧的是，芙蓉新城是一个融合了三大种族的住宅区，华人，巫裔，印裔都在这个新兴的地区拥有一 定的数量，该纵火事件恐怕会引起当地居民的恐慌。他呼吁各族人民应该保持冷静，并实践各宗教里所教导的容忍与包容的精神。

7 churches was being attacked in the last few days. I thought the peace loving people in Seremban would never have such black sheep.

But it has proven wrong when i was in the Court today and received a call that a Church in Seremban 2 was set on fire yesterday night. After i finished my cases, i rushed to the scene which is not far from the Court as well as the IPD Seremban.

It was devastating and particularly sad although i am a Buddhist, but seeing other religions worship place was being attacked and set on fire is the saddest thing that this country could have happened.

This is terrorist act! Only terrorist will do such devastation. I condemn those who attacked the churches, and those who is trying to incite racial hatred, jeopardising religious harmony that we Malaysian has trying to keep even before the independence day of this country.

It is worrying as S2 is a multi-racial community, such attack would stir S2 emotion and i urge all people to stay calm, do not react to any provoking action/ words, please do practice what we had learnt in all religion teaching to tolerate and respect to other religion.
