（森美蘭‧芙蓉）68歲退休人士聲稱，他的眼睛遭眼鏡蛇的毒液噴到，入院洗眼長達3小時，消毒藥水也用了約40瓶，並在醫院治療2天才出院。他事後向保險公司索取家庭意外保險金，但不滿賠償金少，於是向代議員求助。
來自萬茂的曾鏡堯今日（週六，4月24日）向武吉甲巴央州議員謝琪清指出，他是於2001年11月在銀行職員說服下，購買了某家保險公司的家庭意外保險，每個月需繳交22令吉，至今已有近10年。
他說，去年10月23日早上，有一條眼鏡蛇爬進他的家，導致他的右眼誤被眼鏡蛇噴入毒液。當天，他在芙蓉端姑查化醫院治療，洗眼長達3小時，並且住院了2天，共花費35令吉。
他聲稱，為了向保險公司索賠，他重返醫院，以40令吉買了醫藥報告，再呈交給保險公司。苦等了數個月後，他終於在兩週前獲得保險公司開出支票，但他認為100令吉賠償金過少。
“我當時有向保險公司反映不滿，但保險公司職員只是敷衍了事，我覺得很生氣，就只拿了支票，沒有簽收，如今我還未把支票過賬。”
右眼視力模糊
他強調，除了住院醫藥費，他覆診兩次，每次5令吉，接下來還會於8月10日覆診，前後的花費已經超過100令吉，因此覺得保險公司的賠償金並不合理。
曾鏡堯說，他的右眼到現在還有後遺症，尤其在晚上時看東西會出現模糊情況。
武吉甲巴央州議員謝琪清指出，保單上注明政府醫院住院費的每日賠償是50令吉，因此他相信100令吉是曾鏡堯住院2天的賠償。
他也說，曾鏡堯之前把大部份重要的保險文件交給保險公司，導致他手上有的文件不多，不過，他會盡力協助曾鏡堯向保險公司交涉，希望能調高賠償金。
